Scalloped Potatoes with Cheese

Ingredients

1 clove
Garlic (halved)
6  
Red Potatoes (cut into 1/8 inch slices)
2 tablespoons
Butter
1⁄2 teaspoon
Salt
1⁄8 teaspoon
Black Pepper
1⁄2 cup
Gruyere Cheese (Shredded)
1 cup
Milk

Instructions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Rub an 11 x 7 inch backing dish with cut sides of garlic halves and discard the garlic. Greese or oil the baking dish.

Arrange half the potatoes in the dish and drizzle with half the butter. Sprinkle with half the salt, half the pepper, top with half the cheese and repeat the layers.

Bring the milk to a boilover low heat in a small saucepan. Pour the milk over the potatoe mixture. Bake for 40 minutes or until tender.
